We honour Country by sharing the rich flavours and wisdom of the Aboriginal bushfoods, connecting culture, health, and community through every dish.
Our professional development workshops provide educators, facilitators and organisations with hands-on opportunities to deepen their understanding of bushfoods, cultural knowledge and practical application. Sessions are designed to build confidence in using native ingredients, sharing knowledge respectfully and bringing bushfoods into learning, cooking and community settings.
Professional development offerings may include an Introduction to Bushfoods, exploring native ingredients, their uses and cultural context; Native Bush Brew workshops, focusing on tea blending and bush plants; and Bushfood Plant workshops, delivered in collaboration with Josie from The Bush Nursery. Combined workshops can also be offered, bringing together bushfood plant knowledge with a live cooking demonstration, where participants learn how to cook with bushfoods and explore flavour pairings, preparation techniques and contemporary applications.
A foundational professional development session introducing participants to Australian bushfoods, their traditional and contemporary uses, and their connection to Country. This workshop builds confidence in understanding native ingredients, sharing knowledge respectfully and identifying ways bushfoods can be incorporated into educational, hospitality or community settings.
A hands-on workshop exploring native plants used for teas and infusions. Participants learn about flavour profiles, wellbeing uses and cultural context while creating and tasting bush brews. This session is ideal for educators and facilitators looking to incorporate bushfoods into learning environments through sensory and wellbeing-focused experiences.
A combined professional development experience bringing together bushfood plant knowledge and a live cooking demonstration. Participants learn about bushfood plants and then see how native ingredients can be prepared and used in the kitchen, exploring flavour pairings, cooking techniques and contemporary applications.
A practical session focused on cooking with native ingredients. Participants learn how to confidently use bushfoods in everyday recipes, educational demonstrations or community settings, gaining hands-on experience with preparation methods, flavour balance and menu ideas.
Sessions can be delivered as 45–90 minute workshops, half-day experiences, or as full-day or multi-session programs, depending on the professional development needs of your organisation.
