Cinnamon Myrtle (Backhousia myrtifolia)

Grown in the sub-tropical regions of NSW and Queensland, Cinnamon Myrtle is a beautifully aromatic native leaf with a naturally sweet, warming character. When crushed, the leaves release a gentle cinnamon-like fragrance, offering a uniquely Australian alternative to conventional cinnamon.

Earthy and softly spiced rather than overpowering, Cinnamon Myrtle works beautifully in pastries, desserts and baked goods, while also adding depth to savoury spice blends. It can be steeped as a soothing herbal tea or folded through compotes, crumbles and sweet treats for a subtle, warm finish. A delicate native spice that brings comfort and character to every dish.
