Indigenous Weaving Workshop with Hannah “Goanna”

Join Hannah “Goanna” from Yuluwirri Weaving for a hands-on introduction to traditional Indigenous weaving.

In this engaging two-hour workshop, participants will learn how to weave a small Dilly Bag using natural fibres while gaining insight into the preparation techniques used before weaving begins. Hannah will share cultural knowledge and the importance of weaving as a sophisticated example of First Nations culture, innovation and technology.

Yuluwirri (pronounced You-loo-wirry) means Rainbow in the Gamilaraay language. As a proud Anaiwan and Gamilaraay woman, Hannah shares First Nations values of community, conservation and connection through her weaving workshops.

Suitable for beginners, this workshop offers a relaxed and welcoming environment to learn a traditional skill and create something meaningful to take home.
